Last Halloween

Happy Halloween!

One of my sweet little monkeys (this photo got a little out of order, but it is so cute I wanted to leave it on!). By the way, it is really hard to tell who is who in these costumes. I even have to get right in their faces to see who I am talking to!

We have an early Trick or Treating night here in New Albany. So tonight we dressed up the girls up and handed out lots of candy. Well, actually, the girls just ran around the yard, and Chris and I chased them. Chris would run back up to the big bowl of candy when Trick or Treaters came by and toss some chocolate at them. I ended up taking M and L inside about half way through, and we watched Dora. Daddy sat outside and passed out the rest of our candy. I did find out that these are the perfect outfits for wobbly toddlers learning to walk outside. They would fall on the concrete, but we have no skinned hands or knees!

Climbers

This is the girls' new favorite game. We pull most of the cushions off the couch, and let them climb until they are worn out. Safe enough for mom and dad, and tons of fun for Maddie and Lena- best of both worlds! The only problem now is they want to climb on everything. I guess that is a typical child though, isn't it?

Seriously?

Maddie now knows how to open the doors. When we moved into this house Chris changed all of the hardware and installed nice lever handles...mistake. Obviously, they are much easier to open. Now I have to lock the bathroom door when it is not occupied, then I have to pick the lock when I need to go in.
I finally decided these toys could go to the basement- I am just waiting on someone else to take them down there. M and L are constantly playing with them now- of course!
Maddie climbed into the walker.
And Lena climbed into the collapsed exersaucer.

Little piggies!

Well, pig tails, that is. My friend Katy (whose daughter Maya is exactly the same age as M and L) put the girls' hair up for them a couple days ago. The squirmed while she did it, but they didn't even notice once it was done. I have tried every barrette out there, but they just rip everything right out. There is still no solution for getting their growing bangs out of their eyes, but I think this is just adorable. Maya looks super cute like this, because she has a little longer hair in the back and short little bangs in the front. This was my first attempt at the pig tails, and, as you can see, I still need some practice.

Lipstick

Here is Maddie applying her "lipstick." What a little lady! Only fourteen months old and won't leave the house without her lipstick :)

Bye bye

The girls are trying to say some new words. Finally, something other than mama and dada! Lena waves her arm furiously while saying bye bye. I think Maddie picked up her new phrase from my every day use. She says "no, no" while pointing her little finger. Oops, I didn't realize I said it that often! She also says river...odd, I know. It mades sense though- Chris's mom and dad have a dog named River. She has been mumbling that word for a while now, but she gets clearer every day. I will have to get her on video saying that next time.
