Buddies

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Don't mind my singing! The girls love to do the actions to Itsy Bitsy Spider, and they love to sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat. I couldn't catch them singing on video. Their faces crack me up, because you can tell they know they are doing something we are proud of them for learning!

Trying something new

Over the weekend I decided the girls should start learning how to use dishes.  We grabbed dinner out on Saturday night, and we always have to put their food directly on the restaurant's table (which can be pretty unsanitary at times).  We have tried plates, but, as you can imagine, it does not end well.  I picked up a couple plates with suction cups on the bottom...that don't work at all!  They stay put for about one minute, then you can pick them right up.  What a waste!  M and L have both had some pretty nasty colds, so they were beyond ready for their naps by the time they were eating lunch.  Lena bawled when I took her plate and put her food onto the table.  Here she is- tears and all.

I forgot to mention over the weekend that we had a couple accidents.  Not only have both girls been under the weather, but we had two busted lips on Sunday- one for each kid.  Lena's was first.  She was dragging around a new toy given to us by our generous neighbors.  Well, it is about half her size, so not really one she was able to carry well.  She tripped on it, and fell right into it, busting her bottom lip.  It didn't end up being too bad- minimal bleeding and minimal crying.  Later in the afternoon, Maddie was riding on their rocking horse, and she flipped it over forward.  Her bottom teeth went into her lower lip.  After examining it more closely today, I am not totally convinced they didn't make it all the way through.  She is a bit swollen, but you can tell it is already starting to heal.  Chris and I were both ready to put them to bed early!

Basement

Here it is!!  Remember last February Chris and my dad were working on finishing our basement for about a week?  Well, it is 99% done!  Just some trim to be hung along the base of the stairs and a piece of trim to be placed on the half wall at the bottom of the stairs.  It looks fantastic!  We have already been spending quite a bit of time down there.  The girls have a nice play area with their kitchen and table and chairs (I keep trying to take more and more of their toys down, so we can reclaim the living room!).  Those are gifts they received for Christmas, but we didn't open them until a couple weeks ago.  They love playing in the basement, it is a whole new world for them to explore.
