Our very first hair cut!  Chris and I took M and L to Sweet and Sassy last Saturday to get their hair trimmed.  Not only were we looking for something to do inside on a super hot and muggy day, but I also figured it was time to cut the girls' hair.  They were very hesitant that morning when I asked if they wanted to, but I promised we would take them somewhere they would love in order to get it done.  That was an understatement.  I don't think I will be able to even take them back in that wing of the mall without them dragging me into that store.  When we walked in there were girls having a birthday party dressed as princesses singing Justin Bieber...could there have been a better situation?!?!  While we waited M and L danced and sang along.  Two young women came and took them back to the "salon" area and wrapped them in purple capes.  M and L sat very still (Maddie talking the entire time, and Lena sitting perfectly quiet and taking it all in.).  After their quick trim they got their hair braided, sparkles in their hair, glittery stamps on their faces, and a pretty flower sucker.  They were in heaven.  Today they asked me to braid their hair like at Sweet and Sassy.  I am surprised it took them this long to ask!

Fourth of July weekend was so much fun!  Our cul de sac had a bbq.  There were probably about 40 people that came (everyone from our neighborhood)- tons of kids, food, booze.  We even rented a bounce house for the kiddos.  It rained all morning, but cleared up just in time for the party.  We went to the New Albany parade, and the girls had their first candy chasing experience.  They tried to eat it as fast as they caught it.  Chris ended up hiding about half of it from them.  The night of the fourth NA had a fantastic fireworks display that we watched from the church with our entire cul de sac.  We are so lucky to have such awesome neighbors.  The girls have made friends with Zoey (a little girl that lives about 7 houses away).  I don't know how we haven't met before this summer, especially since her mom stays at home too.  M and L are about nine months younger than her, and they all play so well together.  This was the most enjoyable holiday we have had yet with the girls.

Hanging out with Uncle Zach the weekend of the fourth.  Zach and his girlfriend came through Columbus for a quick visit.  Michelle took these photos.  She is quite creative and really good with her camera.

Finally!  These pictures were from well over a month ago.  I keep meaning to get them on here, but clearly, I have been procrastinating.  We went up to Michigan for Chris's cousin's high school graduation party.  We also visited his grandparents.  It was a way overdue visit.  The girls haven't seen them since Christmas before last.  M and L thoroughly enjoyed our time there.  They swam at Jim and Maeda's house- first pool trip of the summer, had graduation cake, hung out with grandma and grandpa and great g and g, played in the yard, and got lots of attention.  We took tons of pictures before leaving, and you can tell when the girls start to near their end...we get some super cheesy "cheeses!"

WF

At a pool party with my friend Andrea and her little girl Amelia.  Trying to get three two year olds to hold still for a photo is practically impossible, but they are all so cute who cares!

Jolie and Jackson hanging out inUncle Andrew's kitchen
First play date with my high school friend's little girl Kennedy.  Jolie is about a month older than her.
Swimming at Uncle Andrew's...playing "The Giant" game.

U2 concert at Busch Stadium with my bro.  There were 56,00 people there.  I have never been to a concert that big.  It was awesome!

M and L playing on some of the remodeling supplies at my mom and dad's.
Story time with Grandma
Thanks for the goggles, Aunt Laurie!  (my other favorite picture)

Most of these pictures are from the last day of our vacation.  M and L had so much fun with their cousins!
