On the way home from Illinois we stopped just outside Cincinnati at The Great Wolf Lodge. I'm not sure if Maddie and Lena were more excited about the bunk beds or the water slides. They loved it all. There was even story time right before bed. This place was perfect for the kids. As we were pulling out of the parking lot they asked if we could come back again soon. They fell asleep about five minutes later.
Maddie and Lena dropped their bowling ball so many times I thought they were going to ask us to leave. The final drop was from Lena. It landed on her toe, and she burst into frantic tears. I could tell from her reaction how much it hurt. She still has a bruise under her big toenail from it landing there. Daddy gave her some candy, and she was better shortly after.
Our first ever attempt to bowl
This is what Lena gave me when I asked her to turn around and smile. We went with it.
Waiting for the sparkly, purple ball. Obviously.
Check this place out...those keyboards are the ones you actually use. At least they are automatic- most likely the first ones ever invented.
Maddie celebrating after a victory...also getting ready to run in front of Grandma bowling. Look out!
A visit with the entire family (including aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunt and uncle and second cousins, etc)! So much fun. We hung around the house, the kids played together and with the IPads and with the Wii, the adults rested and drank plenty of wine, we played outside, watched the babies drool on each other, and had Wrestle Mania. It was an awesome visit.

A couple Saturdays ago I took Maddie and Lena to see Disney on Ice. Their friends Maya and Zoe and their mommies went too. The weather turned nasty on the way downtown, and there was a ton of traffic, so we were a little late. I felt so bad, because we missed most of the princesses. Maddie kept asking when they were coming back out...oops. Regardless, they loved the show. It was cool that they got to go with their best buds. I think they liked the show better than the candy and snacks, but I'm not totally sure! Maddie stuck her finger in a rainbow snow cone at the concession stand on the way out and threw an absolute fit that I wouldn't let her have it. She had a melt down, and I thought I was going to have to drag her out of there. By the time we made it to the car she was totally fine, but Lena had turned grouchy. The both fell asleep on the way home. I guess it just proves that they really do still need their naps.
