Jackson and Jolie (cousins) are about a month and a half apart.  It was really cool to watch them watch each other.

I have to give Steph lots of credit for actually putting the Smart Family Olympics together.  It was an idea at Christmas, but she is the only one that ran with it.  She had team shirts made, and came up with all the games.  We all threw in ideas on the rules the night before over margaritas and beers, so there weren't too many loop holes.  To spite the heat we had so much fun!  I think our backyard neighbors appreciated the entertainment.  Big green team victory!  Rematch next year.

My sweet baby girl turned two months while we were in Illinois.  I took her in early for her checkup, and here are her stats:

12 pounds (75%)

23 1/2 inches (90%)

Over the last two weeks she has started "talking" and smiling so much.  She is such a bright spot in our lives.  She had her first issue starting last week- she (and I) have thrush.  Jolie has been such a trooper, and has hardly complained- barely even fussy.  She saw the pediatrician yesterday, and they have her on an oral medication for about two weeks.  She has been extra happy this morning, so hopefully the meds are providing some relief. 

 Mom's bday with our favorite cake from Golden Delight Bakery.  It is the cake that Chris and I had at our wedding, and we typically use every excuse to go buy one. 

 LOOK! Mom gave us gum to try to entertain us while we waited for the animal show to start...and it worked.  We swallowed it about five minutes later.  We ask for it every day since then, but she just won't give it to us.

 Jolie loved the zoo. 

 Lunch time!  All three girls were so good that we stayed at the zoo for almost four hours.  I had to feed Jolie in the van before we drove home, but it was by far our best trip this summer.

 Maddie did a real number on her lip last night.  She was running in the yard, tripped, and bounced her face off the ladder to the tree house.  She was bleeding everywhere.  Approximately 30 seconds later Lena fell off the swing and bloodied her lip, too.  It was a good five minutes of chaos.  A popsicle cured Lena, but Maddie insisted on a band aid.  The cut is mostly on the inside of her lip, so Chris improvised and put it on so it looked like a mustache.  She was satisfied and told us it felt better.  Poor thing.  She is looking a little better today.

My mom came for an impromptu visit week before last.  She had some free time to herself, and Maddie asked on the phone if she could come over...so she did!  We just hung out around the house and took the girls to Easton one afternoon to see the fountains.  I love that she has the summers off.

M and L continue to dote on Jolie.  I found Lena sharing her blanket and cuddling with her a few days ago.
