Like mother, like daughter

Multitaskers

Leg lifts while eating...if only I could do the same!
Maddie sleeping on the job. I'm not sure why, but every time she is in the exersaucer lately, she thinks it is a recliner. When I catch her doing this, she just smiles really big and sits up.

Famous babies!!

You have to watch the whole thing. The clip starts with a quick commercial, then there is about two and a half minutes from the Today show that aired this morning. Do you recognized any of the girls from the end of the clip?

Learning to share

The girls are often reaching for the same toy. They also roll over onto the other all the time. This picture captures both! Two toys are better than one :)
Today Maddie started really using her arms to hold herself up rather than her back muscles. She enjoyed spending time on her tummy longer.
Just laying around. I forgot to mention that both of the girls are teething. Both of their bottom front teeth have popped through. Let me tell you...they are sharp!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

G and G visit again

Grandma wanted to get in on the action with the girls and their cereal.
Lena has had enough of the cereal, she has decided dad's breakfast looks better!

My mom and dad are here again this weekend. They volunteered to come back to help Chris finish the basement...what sports! I swear, they really do live seven hours away! We really appreciate all of their help.

She could do this all day

This video cracks me up!! I purchased a Jumperoo from a girl on Craigslist yesterday. Since the girls are already six months old, I didn't want to spend the money on a brand new one. Apparently I should have. Maddie is going to wear this one out within the next week! She gets fussy if she isn't in it. If she is unhappy all I have to do is stick her in her Jumperoo, and she is fine. I should have got this months ago!!

Half a year old!

Today was a big day! The girls had their six month check up, and they started eating cereal today. They are such good, happy, healthy babies. They are in the 90th percentile for height and weight and the 97th percentile for head circumference. Poor kids...got their dad's head. No wonder it is a squeeze to get their six month tops over their heads! Lena weighed in at 18 lbs, 8 oz, and Madeline is 18lbs, 15ozs. No one at the doctor's office can believe they were premies. Lena only weighed 5lbs the first time I took her in there!

I sat the girls in their high chairs for the first time and fed them their first bowls of solid food this afternoon. Their faces were so funny! I wish I would have videoed it. Maybe tomorrow. They did pretty good considering it was their first attempt. They didn't need full bottles, so I assume that means they actually swallowed a little bit of it! We are going to go through bibs much faster now.

What am I supposed to do with this?
This tastes as bad as the formula!

Mom, you really expect me to eat this crap?

New favorite toy

They love their feet! I caught Maddie trying to get her foot into her mouth...doesn't quite reach yet. Can't wait for that day to come!

I can't leave them alone too long in the floor any more. They have started rolling over onto each each other! And whoever gets rolled onto really doesn't like it!

Quick pic

For those of you who know my dad or my cat, you know that this is a very unique situation! My dad hates cats, and Ralph isn't the friendliest creature. He only likes Chris and I and will hiss at everyone else. He is a wuss though. After he hisses, he runs in the other direction. Since my dad has been here, he has started warming up to him. This is the second day in a row he has tried to cuddle with him. My dad has finally given in, and he let him get cozy on the couch next to him. I don't think either one really knew what to think! I thought it was worth documenting :)

Basement- end of Wednesday

The guys had a productive day today. The pictures don't really do it justice, but the basement is starting to look like a real room. They installed and wired all the lighting, put up all the insulation, and wrapped up a few other loose ends. Tomorrow they will start hanging sheet rock. Yeah!!
