Long locks

Playing with dad

Playing on the couch with dad.

M and L are turning into quite the little climbers. If we hold still long enough, they are crawling all over us. They use toys as step stools to get up on the couches and ottoman. Now they just have to learn to get down (without going head first)!

Almost there

From videos

Every day brings an improvement to our walking. Sorry the camera is so shaky, I couldn't stop laughing! They look like newborn deer trying to get their balance.

Walking

M and L are both taking lots of wobbly steps. Any day now they will be walking!

Day at the park

Katy playing Duck, Duck, Goose with Adam..Maya following in the background.
Maddie and Maya eating mulch.
Lena eating grass.
All the girls climbing the slide.

Crawling through the playground.
Ali playing McDonald's with Adam, Jack, and Devin.

Friday we headed to the park with some friends to enjoy the nice weather. We had such a good time, and Maddie and Lena loved to play on the playground. They crawled up the slide and played on the tunnels all by themselves- it made mom a little nervous, but I think I am a little too protective sometimes. It was good for all of us!

Mommy...eye...nose

Mommy...
...eye...
... nose!
Are we at that age already (finger in the nose)? It's like she found a cool, new place to stick her finger. I'm sure Lena will hate this picture when she gets older, but it was too funny not to post! It is amazing to me how quickly they pick up on new words and actions. They are trying to mimic almost everything we do- except the finger up the nose, I don't know where she got that :). They blow me away with all of the new tricks they have learned over the last month!

"Sharing"

Both of them determined to get onto this toy.
Lena- so happy!
Lena taking a swing at Maddie (I didn't just sit here and take pictures of them fighting. I had to break it up a couple times, but they both crawled right back over there.)
Busted!
We are working hard on sharing! The girls definitely don't get it yet. My mom bought them this chair at a friend's garage sale, and they can't get enough of it. Both of them constantly want to be in it- whether the other is already on it or not! I don't know if that $5 was worth it or not. There has been hitting and biting over this thing...what is it about this silly little toy?? Anyone have another one of these things they might want to get rid of? Maybe if we had two...

Old friend, new friend

This is Amelia- what a doll! Her mom Andrea and I have been friends since grade school. Maddie, Lena, and I got to meet Amelia when we were in Illinois this last week. She is just two months old...so tiny. If you can believe it, I have already forgot how to hold a baby so small! She seemed so fragile compared to my little monsters that like to play rough. She is such a good baby. Amelia barely even fussed the whole time we were there! Once the girls played with all of the toys Andrea had out for them, they noticed the baby. They were dying to touch her face. We took their hands and showed them how to be gentle with her. They were smiling the whole time. It is not too often that they are around other kids smaller than them.
Maddie really wanted to check her out...
...Lena was more interested in smiling for Andrea taking her picture!

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

Watching Dora with Grandpa. Each morning my dad would keep an eye on the girls so I could get a shower. He quickly learned how much the girls like watching Dora. Apparently he didn't think it was so bad either- I could hear him singing the lyrics!

Maddie talking on the phone. I'm sure we will see her in this position for many years to come.
Sharing grapes with Grandma.

Me with my grandpa. We took a trip down to see him one evening. My mom, dad, the girls, and I went out to dinner with him. It is always so good to see him!
Pony rides with Grandma. M and L loved going for rides on the rocking horse. My Grandpa and Grandma made this for my niece Brittian. Since she is too big for it now, my brother brought it to my parents' house for all of the grandkids to use.

Just a swingin'

We have had absolutely beautiful weather this week. It is just a bit cool in the mornings, but it warms up to upper 70s/ low 80s by the afternoon. I wanted to get myself and Maddie and Lena out of the house the other afternoon, so we took a quick trip to a nearby park. It was practically just us there since schools are back in session. The girls have graduated to their own swings (although they seemed to like sharing one). As you can see in some of the pictures the majority of the time Lena was leaned very far back in her swing, and Maddie was almost falling out the front of hers.
